In the Holy Qur'an, Ramadan is called the "month of the Qur'an".

Because the Holy Quran was revealed in this month.

The Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has given this month the title of "Great", "Blessed" and Blessed Month.

And it has been called the month of "patience", "grief" and "provision of the believer"

According to your blessed edicts, the month of Ramadan has many virtues over the remaining eleven months of the year:

* This duty is the month of fasting.

Every day of it Allah Heaven is commanded to be adorned.

* The gates of heaven are opened and the gates of hell are closed.

* From the first of Ramadan the doors of the heavens are also opened which remain open till the last night of Ramadan.

* Rebellious demons are imprisoned.

* The reward of supererogatory prayers is equal to the reward of duty and the reward of duty is equal to seventy duties.

* Every day one prayer is definitely accepted.

* Every day countless sinners are forgiven and freed from hell.

(Al Targheeb wal Tarheeb)

What were the routines of the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in such a glorious month?

This will be briefly highlighted in the following articles:

Preparing for Ramadan:

The Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to start praying for the arrival of Ramadan in the blessed month of Rajab two months before Ramadan.

It is narrated on the authority of Majma 'al-Zawaid that the Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say:

"اللّٰھم بارک لنا فی رجب و شعبان  و بلغنا رمضان۔”

Translate: (O Allah! Bless us in the months of Rajab and Sha'ban and bring us to Ramadan.)

Special address from the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to gather the Companions may Allah be pleased with them all on the last day of Sha'baan and explain to them the importance and virtue of Ramadaan and the special needs of Ramadaan and their virtues.

This hadith is found in Sahih Ibn Khazima and Bayhaqi, etc.

A very happy month is coming before you.

There is a night in it which is better than a thousand months.

In this month, Pak has declared fasting is obligatory and its Taraweeh is Sunnah.

Whoever Postpartum a supererogatory act of worship in this month, it is as if he has performed a duty other than this month.

(That is, the reward of Postpartum becomes equal to the obligation)

And whoever performed the duty in that month, it is as if he performed seventy duties (Performing one duty will be rewarded for performing seventy duty).

This is the month of patience (hard work of worship) and the reward of patience is heaven

It is a month of goodwill towards each other, a month in which the provision of the believer is increased.

Whoever breaks his fast during this month will be forgiven of his sins and freed from Hell and will be rewarded as much as the fasting person and his reward will not be reduced.

The Companions may Allah be pleased with them asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):

O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)!

Not every one of us has the space to break the fast (Because it was a time of extreme poverty).

O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

This person will also be rewarded.

Who broke his fast with a date or a sip of water or a sip of milk.

This is a month whose first ten days are of mercy,

The second part is forgiveness And the third part is salvation from Hell.

Those who will lighten the load of work from their slaves and servants Allah will forgive him and save him from hell.

Do four of these things frequently.

The two of them are the ones from which you will gain the pleasure of your Lord

And there are two things without which there is no choice.

The two things without which there is no solution are the question of Paradise (and its supplication) and the refuge from Hell.

Who gave water etc. to a fasting person.

God will irrigate this person from my pool

After which he will not feel thirsty

Until he enters Paradise.

Special arrangements for moon sighting:

The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)used to make special arrangements for observing the new moon of the holy month

And unless they themselves see the moon or an eyewitness testifies to seeing the moon Until then, he would not have declared Ramadan.

If the moon had not been seen or if it had been cloudy, they would not have declared Ramadan And he would complete thirty days of Sha'ban.

(Zadul Maad)

Considering the traditions related to the sighting of the crescent, it is known that:

(1) The "decision of the moon" will be made by the human eye instead of the scientific eye.

(2) If the information is cloudy, then only a pious man, whether male or female An announcement will be made only when they give the correct testimony The moon will also be announced by looking at its moon.

The Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once announced the appearance of the moon on the testimony of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Umar (May God be pleased with him) and on one occasion on the testimony of only one villager.

(Zadul Maad)

If a person who is not praying and a sinner testify to the moon, then his testimony is not valid.

In the same way, in case of clear information, the decision to see the moon will be made at that time While so many people describe their sighting of the moon that the judge's heart began to testify that they could not agree on a lie.

Only then will the judge announce the moon.

(Al Bahrur Raiq)

Prayer to see the moon the month of Ramadan:

When the moon of the month of Ramadan appeared, the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)would turn towards it and recite the following supplication:

"اللھم اھلہ علینا بالا من والایمان والسلامۃ و الاسلام والعافیۃ العجلۃ و دفاع الاسقام، والعون علی الصلاۃ والصیام وتلاوۃ القرآن، اللھم سلمنا لرمضان و یسلمہ لنا وسلمہ منا حتی یخرج رمضان وقد غفرت لنا ورحمنا و عفوت عنا۔"

(کنزالعمال جلد 8 صفحہ 590)

There is a hadith that when the month of Ramadan entered, the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to teach the Companions this prayer:

"اللّٰھم سلمنی لرمضان و سلم رمضان لی وسلمہ لی متقبلا۔"

Translation: O, grant us peace in Ramadan and grant peace to me from Ramadan, and accept it for me in peace.

Ramadan of fasting:

Fasting in Ramadan is obligatory.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast all of Ramadan.

A person who He left the fast of Ramadan without any legitimate excuse.

The hadiths mention the severe torments of Hell for such a person.

The following is a summary of the virtues narrated from the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the blessed month:

The Allah fast of Ramadan has been declared obligatory.

One who fasts in Ramadan with the intention of faith and reward

And whoever abstains from sins while fasting. All his past and future sins are forgiven.

Fasting is also Zakat on the body.

For the fasting person, even the angels and the fish of the sea pray for forgiveness.

Every day from Fajr prayers to sunset, 70,000 angels pray for his forgiveness.

In return for every prostration, such a tree is given in heaven in the shadow of which the rider can walk for 500 years.

The prayer of the fasting person is not rejected.

The Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Jibreel Amin have cursed death against this person Those who could not get their forgiveness even in the month of Ramadan.

If a person leaves one day of Ramadan without an excuse, then the fast of a lifetime cannot compensate him.

(Al Targheeb wal Tarheeb)

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said in a hadith:

"I saw some people hanging upside down, their faces cut off And it was bleeding.

I asked:

"Who are these people?"

He replied:

"These are the people who did not fast".

(Sahih Ibn Hibban:7494)
